In-Kind Donations

PLEASE DO NOT DROP DONATIONS OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. ITEMS ARE SOMETIMES SCATTERED, STOLEN AND/OR DESTROYED.

Lewis County Gospel Mission welcomes in-kind (material) donations that allow us to meet the needs described in our services. Due to lack of space, there are many items we do not have room for.  Drop Off Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mission Needs:

• Clothing:
  Clothing and footwear for men and women. Jeans, coats, hoodies, sweatshirts, socks, clean underwear for both men and women are badly needed. Clothing should be appropriate for someone who lives an unsheltered life. They should be clean and usable. The Mission does not have the staff or time to replace zippers, sew seams or replace lost buttons. Business attire and dressy clothing or shoes should be donated to Dress for Success or other local non-profits.
• Outdoor Living:
  Tents, tarps, sleeping bags, blankets. These items should be usable and suitable for outdoor living.
• Toiletries:
  Toothpaste and toothbrushes are very helpful. Travel size shampoo, conditioner and body wash are used in our shower program and provided to guests to take with them. Feminine hygiene products are an on-going need.
• Food items for Food Pantry:
  Canned meats, pop-top soups, vegetables and fruits, Top Ramen, Rice-A-Roni, Chili and other one-meal canned food items. Travel size snacks, pudding and fruit cups. Small jars of peanut butter. Rule of thumb is that food should be easy to reheat. Foods should not be more than a year older than sell by date. If dented, split or rusted please do not donate them. We cannot accept home-canned, damaged or opened packages of foods.
• Limited Storage:
  Due to storage constraints, please call the Mission at 360-996-4474 to ask what current needs are or if there is space for the products you wish to donate. We cannot use: Furniture, books, magazines, toys, children’s clothing or shoes, knick-knacks or decorative items. Please donate those items to one of the thrift stores in the area. If in doubt whether to donate, please call us at 360-996-4474.
