A Day in the Life (from the May-June 2021 Newsletter) by Tricia Ziese

In the short time that I have served as the new director at LCGM, I have already amassed countless stories that have touched my heart. Here are just two recent examples that I would like to share with you.

Can You Break a $100?
Not a common question I get at the Mission, but it was recently posed to me by one our long-time Mission guest. This man had once been homeless, but by the grace of God had been able to receive housing and had also secured a stable job delivering pizzas locally.

During one particularly large delivery, he was blessed by a $100 tip. Immediately, he thought to share half of his funds with the Mission. He was so excited that it was now his turn to give back to those in need.

“I’m 63…And I Have Never Read One Page from the Bible.”
While I was in the office with our jail chaplain, a guest walked in and made this confession to us. It was clear that this fact was weighing heavily on his heart. After we prayed over the man, he said his own prayer aloud to Jesus, asking to be forgiven of his drug addiction and for the Lord to reign in his life. Later in the day, I observed the man attending one of our Bible studies. He stayed until the very end and I noticed that there were tears streaming down his face.
