The Needs Are Real

The chart below shows the number of people who have signed in at the Lewis County Gospel Mission for food, clothing or other services. With Lewis County Unemployment over 8%, we anticipate ever increasing needs in the coming months.

Jail Testimony

At one of the jail ministry services, an inmate asked if he could share the following testimony:

It is my belief that I have been forgiven by God through his only begotten son, totally and completely. I’ve come to realize the significance of that.

Now I can begin to heal.  If God can forgive me, then I need to follow his example and forgive myself and others.  This I believe is God’s purpose for me right now.  The next step in my life of reckage(sic).  So I can at last learn to live my life free of the burden of guilt, fear and pent up anger towards others’ trespasses.  I believe this is God’s will for me.  I also believe that I would not have realized this had I not been sentenced to this time in jail.

What a blessing to see the fruit of growth in new and reconnected believers!

Choices & Consequences

Life is all about our choices and the results of those choices or the consequences of those choices.

If we want good consequences, we have to make good choices. When we make bad choices, we get bad consequences. When we experience bad consequences, we experience unhappiness, misery, pain and poor health.

When we experience poor health, it is a result of choosing to follow a poor diet, eating too much, not exercising, and a choice of smoking which we all know ruins our health.

When we follow our creator and his instructions, we find joy, happiness, healing, true love, companionship, freedom, peace that passes all understanding.

When we follow the “deceiver”, the devil (Satan), who has been given the temporary rule of our world, we see what his world is like and the results (consequences) of following his lies.  Those results of following him are again unhappiness, misery disappointment, pain, poor health, bad relationships and bitterness.

Which are you experiencing?

Are you ready to follow God?
